In this role you’ll be working on strategic consultancy projects across a range of exciting digital and tech brands who are building the next generation of digital services. Our work is highly influential in guiding our clients’ product, marketing and innovation strategies. Our clients include Oracle, Intuit (Quickbooks), Wise (formerly TransferWise), Thriva.
The research you lead will identify opportunities for clients to evolve and build out their offer to serve unmet customer needs. You’ll be working in an entrepreneurial start-up environment alongside a small team of ambitious consultants that believe the customer belongs at the heart of business strategy.
In this role you will:
- Help clients identify new opportunities to optimise their marketing strategies, and build out their offer to create new value propositions which serve unmet customer needs
- Apply Jobs to Be Done thinking to identify under served opportunities in the market
- Conduct end-to-end qualitative research including: recruitment, writing discussion guides and analysis. This will include using ethnographic research, depth interviews and co-creation techniques
- Conduct end-to-end quantitative research to validate the qualitative insights. This includes; writing questionnaires, creating sample plans and analysing data
- Create inspiring ways to tell real human stories from the research, build narratives that integrate information and data from multiple sources in way that is easy to understand
- Play a big role in shaping the research and strategy propositions Untold offers to clients
- Support the growth of Untold by owning internal initiatives, actively helping to win new business and getting involved in marketing and content writing
Your experience and mindset:
- Have 3-4+ years experience in research and / or consulting
- Have an academic background in psychology, sociology, anthropology, business, design or a related subject
- Experience managing and delivering exploratory qualitative research (particularly, depth interviews) ideally for early stage design projects is a huge advantage. If not, you must be comfortable with the idea of moderating qualitative research and eager to learn.
- Must have experience running quantitative research projects end-to-end from designing quantitative studies, defining the sample frame, working with survey scripters, managing fieldwork and analysing data
- Be comfortable working in an agile, mostly remote, environment with a multidisciplinary team
- Have the appetite to run projects, workshops and training
- Have the ability to think in an integrated way. That is to hold multiple concepts and tensions in your head and find a path forward
- Have the skillset or passion in making the complex simple, and a demonstrated ability to tell robust stories from complex data
- Have excellent client management skills with the ability to build strong trusted relationships
- Have a strong commercial awareness, be able to write winning proposals and advance the team’s business development efforts
- Knowledge of tech and digital brands and markets is a huge bonus
